You have to watch this video…
An upcoming film festival in Channel Islands takes its name from the Jersey tradition "Visite du Branchage," a biannual check that all island residents have trimmed hedges, branches and trees growing on their property so they do not encroach on public roads and footpaths.
While Branchage even has events in London now, the 2009 Festival in the Channel Islands featured some of Jersey's most iconic landmarks, including 13th Century Mount Orgeuil Castle.
In conjunction with the first screening of new Irish animation film in the Castle during the Festival, Branchage commissioned "The Battle of Branchage."
Two visual collectives, Seeper and Flat-E, compete using cutting edge 3D projection mapping techniques to shower the Castle in light. At first, it's just simple illumination, but it morphs into battle as the architectural form of the castle distorts and objects pour out the windows, the walls unravel and energy builds as this spectacle reaches its peak.
Go watch The Battle of Branchage
Go Seeper
Go Flat-e
